See more Robert N @sharky075 Jan 13 I was just wandering about a small detail, which was new to me: at Vlad's time the king of Hungary was Matthias rex who had a great and feared army, the Turks did everything to avoid it. It made the Hungarian Kingdom a natural ally of Wallachia. They waited for the army of Matthias rex, aka black army, but waited in vain. The reasons are diverse, mostly political etc. Just makes me wonder, if Matthias rex had went there, and helped Vlad defeting the Ottomans.. maybe getting some other help from some even more strong christian kings from the west.. It could have been successful, accordig to this movie. How much it would have changed history? Maybe the Hungarians-Romanians would have become the best friends, and the Turks also couldn't conquer Hungary a 70-100 years later... Again, Cem Yigit Üzümoglu does an awesome job of convincing you he is Mehmed II. Can't wait for the season 3! See more Emily L @RT40634394 01/22/2024 I really enjoyed it and ask people to double check the biases of the people leaving bad reviews. They are likely some nationals who are insulted by facts. Finally a docu-drama comes to show the ingenuity and steel will of these people as well as their relative tolerance for the time. And all these trolls come to drag it down. Well, I have experience with the culture and the language as a westerner and must say this is typical that people always want to discredit the greatness of the empire it once was. In fact, it was great. And this series is a wonderful blend of historical perspective and drama. Even this will not keep the trolls from attacking and claiming to be more expert SMH 🤦‍♀️.
