People don't always know where their food comes from, and sometimes there is a rotten underworld involved in food production. This series exposes the corruption, waste and real dangers behind everyday eating habits in a world where global supply chains are increasingly intertwined and consolidated. Episodes dig deep into the largest food fraud investigation -- looking into a scam called Honeygate -- and the challenges farmers and chefs face as the number of people with food allergies continues to rise.

Sinead H T @RT37869880 05/18/2025 I love everything about this show See more 03/03/2021 Watched the episode over chocolate in class. It was entertaining enough, but I finished the episode feeling very empty, largely because the episode had very little substance. Not a lot of numbers, objective facts, or verifiable information, but there was a whole lot of anecdote. That's great and all, but anecdotes aren't evidence of anything systemic. The episode provided very little to no clear explanation of why things are the way they are, the descriptions just say "the companies are corrupt" but very little time is taken in the episode to actually show this or describe why this is the case. This really just seemed like yet another shoddy activist film that is purely ideology-driven and narrative-driven rather than based in reality. They also interviewed a lot of activist group higher-ups who, while I am sympathetic to them, are blatantly in-over-their-head and have very little grasp on the global economy. They made sweeping claims without really any actual evidence. A lot of naive folks are going to watch things like these and be emotionally shocked, but dig a little deeper and you'll find that these episodes are just really hollow. Was not impressed. This time, it's less revealing because most of the culprits are better-known - but nonetheless the show continues to be informative and engaging. See more 11/06/2019 Aside from the occasional academic monday morning quarterbacking and blaming everyone, this is a very well written and produced series. Educational and insightful and all in all does a good balanced job in showing the enormous complexities with global supply chains as well as those created when big money is involved.
