See more Jon C @Jonco Jul 25 Another frustrating and clunky adaptation from this over hyped Author, quite frankly implausible plot lines, too many plot holes and loose ends to count. A trail of murders that were all pretty much avoidable and a twist at the end that we can only presume was a result of the author wanting to play a practical joke on the audience....a photo lying around of the main character's wife before they met clearly pregnant and dressed in Amish clothing. Seriously 😂 To think that this whole sorry affair could have been avoided by a simple conversation at the point that Mr Greenes daughter was dropped off at rehab. A fact that nobody thought to mention to him. Don't even get me started on the flash back editing, which is a horrendously lazy way to tell a story when you can't be bothered to actually do it properly. What drivel, enough to make me want to cancel Netflix, the bar seems to be set increasingly low, the fact that some critics felt there was merit in this mess is unbelievable. The show has too many bad ratings because people don’t rate a show for what it is. This is not supposed to be believable and serious. The book is a beach read, meaning, for light escapism. For what it is, it kept my interest. I never expected realism, and if you did, maybe learn the difference between different genres and what something is intended to be before you hold it up against other types of show. Sometimes entertainment is just that. For entertainment and escapism. And to the person who said it was made to satisfy DEI, maybe get off Fox News and just have some fun for once. The characters look like people in my city, there is no political correctness here, and the overweight ex-cop private investigator, she’s just a goofy fun character. Who cares if she is a larger gal? Go be happy and stop being such a downer cause no truly happy person just rips on fake characters on tv like this. It was an enjoyable read, and the plot came together well, although the narrative feels a bit confusing—and at times labyrinthine—with so much going on at once. End was even stupider than I could have predicted. But worst protagonist dad was a total a$$hole. Couldn’t stand him. No father would assume a kid wasn’t theirs. Plus he put himself wife daughter etc in danger over and over. He suckef and a bad actor (others pretty goid( So many inconsistencies. Why would Katie rogers ID pvb?
