Tv Season Info

It's summertime in Chicago, and the Gallaghers are cooking up fresh ways to bring home the bacon. Their ventures may not be moral -- or even legal -- but they certainly are outrageous. Between beating the heat and keeping their cool, the Gallaghers are in for one crazy summer. It's never a dull moment for the crazy, dysfunctional Gallagher clan in Season Two.

It's going to be messy, it's going to have some scenes that are hard to swallow and it's also going to make you laugh your ass off.

"Shameless" may look, on its surface, like just another tester of television boundaries, but to focus on that is to miss the show's beautifully beating heart.

Dec 18, 2017 | Full Review…

it's nearly impossible to tell from one episode to the next whether Shameless is building up to something or the writers are just doing playful riffs on the Gallagher world that are intended to stand alone.

It's easy to give Shameless the benefit of the doubt, because, at its best, the show is a lot of fun.

Shameless definitely isn't your conventional comedy. In fact, almost nothing about this series is conventional. That's part of the appeal.

Overall, I thought this season was fantastic and outshone season one.

Best of all, however, is that the Showtime series has captured the essence of the first few seasons of the British show

The Gallagher kids, especially the older ones, have enough heart to keep me invested and I was glad to have them back.

The Gallaghers have heart, soul and most importantly, something to say.

The show's disparate pieces - the filthy comedy and the desperation, the joy and the depression - hold together just as well.

Audience Reviews for Shameless: Season 2

Shameless is still one of my top 5 favorite comedy shows of all time and is also one of my top 5 favorite drama shows of all time and one of my top 10 favorite shows of all time. Shameless season two is another perfect blend of comedy and drama that makes me laugh but also tugs at my heartstrings. Emmy Rossum's performance is an astounding standout performance, she gives a really funny performance that is also really touching and deep and she really makes you feel bad for what Fiona has to go through to keep her family together she just gives a really compelling performance. The performances from Joan Cusack, Chloe Webb, William H. Macy, Emma Kenney, Jeremy Allen White, Zach McGowan, Shanola Hampton, Laura Slade Wiggins, Cameron Monaghan, Steve Howey, and Ethan Cutkosky were pretty phenomenal too. The chemistry between the cast is remarkable, they are just so authentic seeming. The writing is just exceptional, it is just hilarious but also really touching, beautiful, and heartbreaking the writing just really tugged at my heartstrings this season I cried the last two episodes. The character development was outstanding especially with Frank, Monica, Lip, Fiona, Sheila, Kev, Ian, Debbie, and Karen. The opening theme and music were spectacular. The makeup and hairstyling was excellent especially on Noel Fisher, Emma Greenwell, William H. Macy, Molly Price, Joan Cusack, Zach McGowan, Shanola Hampton, Steve Howey, Emmy Rossum, Justin Chatwin, and Madison Davenport. The costumes were terrific especially on Joan Cusack, Emmy Rossum, Emma Greenwell, Dove Cameron, Madison Davenport, Shanola Hampton, Steve Howey, Zach McGowan, Amy Smart, Justin Chatwin, and Stephanie Fantauzzi. This 2nd season of Shameless was an A+.

My favorite season! They make summertime in Chicago look like a blast.

A very good season. This is a heartfelt , warm , funny script that doesn't gloss over reality. You feel for these kids and their dysfunctional parents and anyone who has lived in a dysfunctional family can relate to them in some way. Very well acted, great casting, well produced, wished I had come across this earlier.

For Shameless' second year, it certainly isn't any less unrealistic than the first, but it is absolutely funnier, better paced, and more heartfelt. While at times the show's light-hearted tone towards subject matter like statutory rape and teen pregnancy can be problematic, for the most part it's able to successfully have a convivial vibe despite having such grimy characters. The show's large ensemble cast is also well-used for the most part, and the show is often at its best when the writers get as crazy as they can. Furthermore, this season had a better understanding of the Fiona and Frank relationship, which is practically the series ethos. Flawed but fun, Shameless is understandably one of Showtime's most broadly appealing shows.

Made me love this show even more and it's something I highly recommend, just like others recommended to me. It delves more into relationships and more Gallagher family craziness.

Season two of Shameless is infuriating, yet totally rewarding as the Gallagher gang marches on doing the white trash thing.

I just started second season and this show is giving me chills and anxiety too sometimes maybe I am too nice to see all that rough tough aspects of life shamelessly true . I lost my parents and raised my five siblings with real challenges. They are all married and having very good life. I am happily married with two kids . This show makes me cry many times and while watching I am feeling same old kind fears and anxiety I went through in my life. I am glad my siblings who are like my kids are doing great. They love and respect me always. I Have done many good things and had embraced many experiences of life only because of that tough time. I have seen how your owns turn into enemies and hurt you like you will never heal. How the power of love motivates and strengthens you to achieve the goals one could have never imagined otherwise .My culture was different and have less freedom and sources but I never lost hope and kept doing the best I could at the moment .l didn't let my life controlled by fear and short term benefits. People who knows me give my examples to their kids and admire me and believe that life goes on no matter what!! And I believe God was on my side and will always be . I have never reviewed any show ever but I wanted to have some catharsis by sharing my feelings with other viewers

Shameless (2011-) the US version is a tv series based off of the original british tv series though it has a better cast. This show is remarkable to say the very least, stocked with the perfect cast; a ton of various stories which go on throughout the show following each character in it. I’m not certain that too many shows can even compare to this one when it comes to favorites. When I started watching Shameless I couldn’t turn it off, I stayed awake for more than 50 hours going through the seasons only to sit back afterwards wondering how long this show will continue. I did the research to find out it was sort of a remake (typical of the US Media), to find out this one is actually better, at least in my opinion. I started watching both shows in comparison to validate what I had thought and I genuinely fell in love with the characters within the US Version. This show is amazing, it's perfect; and it shows the reality of how the world is. I love it and on that note I’m going to be watching more of the show while I await season 7.
