This documentary hosted by historian Lucy Worsley explores the key life events of Henry VIII's six wives. Drama reconstructions, written by Chloe Moss, bring the romance, scandal and tragedy of the marriages to life, while Worsley provides her contemporary historical comment as she appears alongside the actors in costume. In a male-dominated environment each queen found her own way of exerting influence. Worsley reveals each woman's story and gives a fresh perspective on the king himself. Beginning with his first wife Katherine of Aragon, the host retells the struggles that the pair faced when trying to produce an heir.
