What to Know

Critics Consensus

An all-star cast and blockbuster-worthy special effects aren't enough to keep Space Force's uneven blend of earnestness and satire from spinning quickly out of comedic orbit.

When our world is so mad, it's hard to then go and write a comedy that tries to be madder than real life actually is. Go to Full Review

Does it stumble? Yes, with regularity. It makes mistakes and it isn’t perfect. But it’s brave and foolhardy and unbearably naive. But so are many things that reach for greatness. The ride might be bumpy, but so far it’s worth it. Go to Full Review

Netflix’s Space Force starts from a good premise but ends up a satire of itself, proving that a good idea is not enough to make for an entertaining show. Go to Full Review

Corina D @Beit_ Dec 15 This show has nice guy syndrome. Rapey humor, with our main character an authoritarian manly man whose ego and competitiveness get him in trouble, all women characters are seen through the male gaze. I thought the show was going to critique Trump and fascism, but it's too close to admiring that kind of world view to have any real critique of it. Disappointed and rather disgusted. I wish I had turned it off a lot earlier, I feel like I need a shower. I can't believe actors I admire were associated with this project. See more Jack R Oct 11 Best comedy I have seen in years. It's my fav comedy of the year easy. Love the writing, the cast was genius. This was one of the shows you see and you know is brilliant from the start. See more Painin T Oct 6 The sullen teenager character "Erin"....why?!? I would give 5 stars, but fast forwarding everytime that characters shows up, makes the show tedious. Do producers get seizures, if they can't go for the stereotype in fim making.... a sullen teenager and a divorce...or similar, like in this one. Butchering Carell and Malcovich with a diletant. This show is not the typical comedy. Carell is not playing the regular stereotype idiot man. Carell and Malcovic are brilliant. The characters "F*** Tony" and Chan are well played. I start enjoying the show and that annoying Erin-character pops up. See more Lily K Sep 16 AMAZING SHOW! Half these critics were complete idiots. Loved it.
