One of my strongest memories of the pre-streaming era is of watching "Krusty Krab Training Video" and waiting, desperately and without any concept of TV listings, for Nickelodeon to air it again.

Like 'Pee-Wee's Playhouse, SpongeBob joyfully dances on the fine line between childhood and adulthood, guilelessness and camp, the warped and the sweet.

Audience Reviews for SpongeBob SquarePants: Season 3

  • Jan 12, 2019
Not as good as the first two seasons, SpongeBob SquarePants nevertheless rises on the strength of Tom Kenny's easily recognizable voice acting, beautiful animation and all-ages appeal with its sense of humour. It helps that it was originally going to be adult animation. Shame this was the last season in which Hillenburg was involved. Damn.

Still has charm, and some great episodes, too.

After a really good first season and an amazing second season, SpongeBob was supposed to conclude with its best season yet. This is the season I grew up watching, and I still believe that it’s the funniest season to this day, which is important since this is a comedy show.
