You want more information than comes in a tourism brochure. Sometimes what Tucci offers, in his beautifully modulated voice, is simply bad, simplified history and worse social science.

It's a marvelously well-written show, briskly paced, and makes the rest of the food-TV competition as appetizing as last night's mozzarella sticks.

An interesting look at a country that is much more than its tourist hot spots.

I love everything about this show! It puts me in my happy place, with food, culture, history, art, and lovable host Stanley Tuccci, who is passionate about all of this. Seasoned with a sense of humor!

So well produced and Stanley's authentic love and curiosity for all things food, wine, terroir, and people. Hope he gets many more seasons. We're addicted to discovering Italy through his perspective !

Well, love seeing Italy, but Stanley Tucci is no Anthony Bourdain. And he certainly is showing his hollywood mentality of the cancel culture, when the fisherman from Milan told him to come back and visit Salvini because he was friends with him. Tucci said, he would love to come back but not to visit Salvini. Who says that? How rude and keep politics out of the show this is suppose to be about food and culture. A bit disappointed.

Too bad, there were some good moments but Stanley needs to up his game. Especially when it comes to describing what he is tasting. His vocabulary is limited to "Oh my God", "This is great", "It's so good", etc. Topics and guests were also a bit of déjà vu. Bologna was especially underwhelming. All in all, nothing new under the Italian sun.

I am so disappointed with this Sicily episode. I have been going to Sicily every summer for the past 15 years now and this episode was disgusting. If I were a tourist it would be the last place I would want to visit. Eating Donkey, African food and the only fish sardines? Seriously? Talking about the immigrants coming over to Lampedusa, thought it was about the food Stanley. He showed us dirty graffiti city streets of Palermo and Catania. Are you kidding me? The beaches and the food are amazing...especially around LetoJanni , Giardini Naxos, Cefalu, Siricusa, Argrigento just to name a few! I was so looking forward to this episode and was so upset....this show was awful...I will never watch another show...

I liked the first few episodes, then Stanley's politics ruined my appetite. I won't watch it again.

Excellent series. Stanley Tucci's face showed it all- Delicious food, interesting stories & amazing tour of Italy. I want to see more!
  • Mar 21, 2021
So unexpected and refreshingly entertaining! As an avid traveler (to Italy several times) I was expecting "been there done that".....but it's NOT. I love the modern day human side of life he reveals, with it's cultural and historical background explained For someone who has never studied the history of, or traveled in-depth to Italy, this may not be the program you are looking for. Rick Steves does a great job on that front. This is neither cooking show nor travel documentary. It's plain fun! I want to sign up as a tag-a-long! Can't wait for tonight's season finale - Sicily!

Stanley is a great guy and actor! However for this line of work he just doesn't fit the bill. Basically we are watching a successful well dressed man with fixers dine wherever the show would like, just like any travel show, Unfortunately he is boring and we are not seeing anything new. There is no feeling of escape for the average traveler to have Tucci's experience in Italia because they can't afford it.. There are so many affordable wonderful places you could showcase all over Italia. I hope you do so.

Awful he is boring and not at all Bordeaux, I coy do a better job , will not wary shy.
