A return to familiar material and tones in Volume 3 has dulled none of the creative spirit assembled for Star Wars: Visions, with its various directors finding thrilling new ways to iterate on the iconography of the nearly 50-year-old franchise. Go to Full Review

A true creative explosion that's always worth revisiting, and one I hope will surprise us again with more installments in the future. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

That we’re lucky enough to keep getting nine new Star Wars animated shorts every other year is a blessing, made better by the fact that Disney seems truly intent on allowing these creatives the liberty to play within the franchise sandbox Go to Full Review

While this latest season of Visions is likely its least impressive, it remains a rare bastion from canon and existing lore. That’s more than worth a few speed bumps Go to Full Review

Colum M @Rezal Dec 22 Anime is 100% the direction Star Wars needs to go. Watching how some of these studios just GET the kinetic movement and flow of battles is refreshing. So glad to hear we're getting a full season of the Ninth Jedi, and hope that more full seasons come from other studios. Keep up the great work! See more Spencer P. @s_plewe Nov 28 The third volume of Visions lets some beloved episodes past get sequels, as well as provides some originals that either feel same-y or over-produced. All the while, the animation quality remains slick. See more Koen H @Hilveuh Nov 27 pfff, this anthology absolutely brought nothing : no interesting stories, no follow up, nothing , nada.. None of the characters are worth mentioning... They can stop right now with this show See more Alexander P Nov 18 all the stars for the last episode - the rest of the season is crap See more Robert A Nov 13 Season 3 was awful. Artsy, poor plots and nothing worthy of Star Wars. I was bored through all of them See more F-105 M Nov 10 Episode 1 'The Duel: Payback' and episode 8 'The Bird of Paradise' present ideas an imagery that build on ideas presented by George Lucas in his Swan Song masterpiece, The Clone Wars TV series (Watch The Mortis Trilogy and The Yoda Arc if you like these). If the final movie of the Sequel Trilogy explored content like this it would have had a chance of resonating with a modern audience. Star Wars 1977 proved that Western audiences are hungry for a mythology that can fill the spiritual void left by organized Western Religion. The first season of Ahsoka (and even The Last Jedi), have started the process of democratizing The Force. A much needed evolution for our time. The Clone Wars presented a more layered look at Eastern Dualistic beliefs - combined with concepts of the New Spirituality movement, to start creating a new cosmology for the franchise, and these Visions eps pick up where it left off, in spirit. These Japanese animation studios are showing us how Eastern myth is REALLY done. Also of note is the final episode, 'Black' - an art piece that delves into the psychology of a dying Stormtrooper amidst the chaos and fog of war, told only with moving pictures and sound, no dialogue. George Lucas, who made Star Wars so that it could be understood with visual and soundtrack alone, would love this. I really hope he sees it! Lucasfilm is likely testing what kind of big swings people are drawn to in this ongoing series. For it's love action content, I hope they remember, you can't focus group this stuff, you just gotta hire some artists with something to say and let them take the big swings. Star Wars was born on Big Ideas, and if it's going to remain relevant, it will need a few more. You find some in Star Wars: Visions season 3. See more Read all reviews
