While many remember it for its divisive love triangle, its greatest strength lies in its inspiring story about chasing dreams, embracing failure, and discovering that success is never a straight path. The cast is outstanding—Bae Suzy and Nam Joo-hyuk share heartfelt chemistry, while Kim Seon-ho delivers a truly unforgettable performance as Han Ji-pyeong. Kang Han-na also adds emotional depth to the story. What I loved most was how the series realistically portrays the highs and lows of building a startup, supported by meaningful friendships, family bonds, and memorable mentor-mentee relationships. Paired with stunning cinematography and a fantastic soundtrack, every episode feels both inspiring and emotional. The ending may not please everyone, but Start-Up remains a heartfelt drama about resilience, growth, and finding your own path. A series that stayed with me long after it ended. Even though they wanted Ms.Seo and Dosan to end up together, there should have been a proper ending for Mr.Han. All his anger issues were due to the loneliness from young age and none of the scenes seems to comfort him. Only grandma understood him. I really wanted other guys to understand him either through a discussion- especially the one who lost his brother. Mr.Han should have left to some other country instead of staying here with them. Also, there were too many fillers that I had to skip skip skip. Really this drama had big potential but ruined by the lack of focus on a character that needed more attention. I didn’t even finish the episode 2 after realizing that Ji‑pyeong didn’t end up as the male lead. The show had potential, but the choice of male lead completely ruined it. Ji-pyeong was right for Dal-mi because they loved each other for a long time, even though he sends letters to her under a different name. But why was Do-san given the lead? He was a cheater, even later he saw his own benefit. After all, why did the writer separate Dal-mi and Ji-pyeong? I feel very bad for Han Ji-pyeong. While visually polished, many narrative decisions — especially the main romance — felt weak and unconvincing.😕 The only reason this drama earns a 3-star rating is Han Ji-pyeong, portrayed by Kim Seon-ho.🫶😊 His performance was the strongest element of the series. ❤️ Ji-pyeong is a layered, restrained, and deeply human character whose quiet loneliness and moral integrity made him the true emotional core of the story. Kim Seon-ho brought depth and sincerity to every scene he appeared in.🥰 In contrast, the romantic pairing between the female lead and Nam Do-san lacked chemistry and emotional weight. Even more disappointing, the narrative consistently left Han Ji-pyeong isolated, without support or care, despite him deserving it most.☹️ Start-Up had potential, but failed to honor its most compelling character.
