Over at Kids' WB, they're crowing about creating the first animated African American teen superhero in "Static Shock," a new Saturday morning cartoon that's formulaic but appealing. Go to Full Review

The plot lines may come from the realities of urban life (parents should know guns are depicted and used), but the writing in "Static Shock" needs a jump-start. Go to Full Review

matthias s @Thescreenasvor Sep 20 Static Shock season 1 is a mixed bag of sparks. At 66%, it’s not bad, just a little rough around the edges. The art style isn’t my vibe—sometimes it’s sleek, sometimes it’s flat-out ugly—but hey, early 2000s animation had its quirks. Storywise, though, it holds up better than expected. Virgil is a fun lead, the episodes have solid energy, and the show clearly knows it’s just getting started. There’s plenty of potential hiding under the static, waiting to fully charge up. Not a knockout debut, but definitely entertaining enough to keep me curious about where it’s headed. ⚡ See more 01/22/2021 This show is underrated -change my mind See more Read all reviews
