The food brought to your table is mouthwatering, giving the whole room an amazing scent. BUT, you have to hear the owner give a speech before you can eat. Unfortunately, he’s drunk and talks for 20 minutes, leaving your dish stone cold. You still go in for a bite, just to find out the food is unbearably salty. Great drinks, though. That’s exactly what watching this show feels like. See more Jimmy C @djimmyp1 Sep 18, 2026 Personally i loved it, cannot believe i missed it when first released as have to say it is one of the most original and sincere shows i have ever watched. Its very rare that you watch a show where all the characters are able to touch you emotionally and this really does. I think its a masterpiece personally, yes possibly a slow burner but i never felt it was an effort watching it. The acting was superb and i feel its unfair to single any of them out but Matilda Lawler and Mackenzie Davis were brilliant, Himesh Patel also. Then there is a time jump where a bunch of hippies is traveling around acting for other hippies. It’s one of the best pieces of media that’s come out this decade. I will say that I may be a little biased as I watched it when it came out during the pandemic and lockdowns so I related with the initial premise. This is not your typical post apocalyptic series - no, not every episode is some white-knuckling, fast paced thriller, although don’t misunderstand, there’s still plenty of that. But it’s the intricate storylines, the characters and the way they seamlessly weave it all together, that’s what makes it so special. It’s one of those rare gems that pulls off so many different genres/concepts at once - drama, thriller, psychological, fantasy, love, family, human nature, and even humor. It’s intimate, raw, and heartfelt. Not to mention, the acting and the writing is phenomenal. They say that good taste is subjective and, normally I would agree but if you don’t like this series, you very well might just objectively have bad taste. See more Read all reviews
