It's remarkable how many plot threads Supergirl ties up in its winter finale. It's so neat, it almost feels like a complete season in miniature.
"Medusa" was a strong conclusion to the first half of Supergirl's second season. The episode effectively contrasted the differing relationships in the Luthor and Danver families.
"Medusa" is tighter and more focused, with particular attention paid to the human side of Supergirl's storytelling. But it's also a little bit undercooked with a lack of whiz-bang action to liven things up.
As it turns out, last night's Supergirl "Medusa" only played a minor note in our crossover symphony, but created enough intrigue and set the table for what will happen throughout the week on CW.
"Medusa" is the episode that sets Supergirl back on track. After a couple of episodes that were often boring, everything about this episode was engaging.
Luckily the episode did work...
For the majority of Supergirl's second season, we've been watching several relationships develop, across the board of the romantic, familial, and platonic. Last night's episode "Medusa" added fuel to some of these kindling fires.
I think we have the makings of a really interesting dynamic between Lena and Kara, and I'm curious to see where it goes from here.
...an incredibly sweet and heartfelt moment. These writers did a fantastic job with her whole coming out process.
Like the rest of Supergirl season two, "Medusa" was an emotion-driven roller coaster of a ride that expanded this world and these characters in awesomely affecting ways.
Supergirl capped off the first half of Season 2 with an enjoyable blend of character drama and spectacle.
This season of Supergirl...is kind of like finding booze in a post-apocalyptic world. It can't fix everything, but it is lifting our spirits and cleaning our wounds.
