Mon-El is not a character worthy of as much time as Supergirl has given him this season. It has always been an ensemble series that lets characters take prominence in different episodes, but Mon-El has gotten far more than his fair share of screentime.
Apart from the Maggie-and-Alex story, the best part of this episode was Teri Hatcher's performance as Rhea.
On the real tip? I do not like Teri Hatcher and Kevin Sorbo on this show at all.
Say what you will about Kevin Smith, but the guy absolutely gets how this show should work. This season of Supergirl has been wildly uneven, but this episode was arguably one of the best of the year.
I really enjoyed this episode, mostly because Rhea is an amazing character. Played by the amazing Teri Hatcher, Rhea is one of the best antagonists that has ever been on this show.
As fun and well choreographed as all the fight scenes are, there's something to be said about ones involving kryptonite.
This week's Supergirl had a lot to offer. For one thing, it made better use of Teri Hatcher and Kevin Sorbo than its predecessor. It also delivered a steady stream of memorable romantic drama...
It's so freaking mature and understanding and also underlines another important Supergirl theme: the difference between being good and being perfect.
