It's ... sweet, for lack of a better word. Built around the dependably terrific America Ferrara (Ugly Betty), Superstore doesn't scream of innovation and isn't particularly edgy. It is, however, a good show.

The second season has been more urgent and focused than the first, even as the show's universe has expanded to include minor characters who were essentially background players at the series' start.

There might be no better show that captures living in America today.

The real power of the series lies in it's heart and compassion for each character. The humor comes from the people the employees work with and the natural hilarity that ensues in retail.

The show's Olympics episode shows off its bright, funny, and empathetic comedy.

One of the central things that makes Superstore such an effective comedy is its understanding of constancy.

Superstore has really improved since its first season. This season has better writing and was much funnier. The cast performances were even better this season and I fell they all gave stupendous and very funny performances especially America Ferrera, Ben Feldman, Lauren Ash, Colton Dunn, Nichole Bloom, Nico Santos, Mark McKinney, and Kaliko Kauahi.

In the second season of Superstore all the main characters stories continue and keep you laughing each episode. Happy it's going to get a season three!

I worked in retail for over twenty years and many times co-workers have talked about creating a TV show about our situation, especially when I worked at a mega-chain like Bullseye (name changed to protect the guilty). Somebody complained that every character didn't need to be "quirky", so it's obvious that reviewer doesn't realize that EVERY human being on the planet is "quirky" in some way (though, I have a feeling that person feels unique in that regard). It's a funny show, full of surprises and delights. The people have given it 80% approval compared to 54% from "professionals". Just shows that many critics constantly feel the need to critic-size everything.

    Vast improvement on the first.

While the episode itsef was funny and had the same wit and comedy as the first season, I was extremely confused. We ended last season with everyone walking out after Glen gets fired and Cheyenne has her baby in the store. Yet in Season 2 Episode 1 Cheyenne seems to be pregnant still and Glen is back to being manager and Dina is back as assistant manager. Can anyone help me connect these out of order dots??
