As realistic as the producers make it look, shooting improvised dialogue with handheld cameras in dowdy's always going to be farcical and ridiculous, because that's what the business of governing is like.

Political comedy doesn't get much better than this, nor do I think it deserves such a tremendous attention to detail, with the snappiest dialogue you can find, aided by stellar performances, specially from the instable firecracker that is Peter Capaldi as Malcom Tucker and Chris Langham as Hugh Abbot. Why didn't I rate this any higher? ONLY 3 EPISODES?!?! ARE YOU JOCKING BBC?
