A young chef from the fine dining world comes home to Chicago to run his family sandwich shop after a heartbreaking death in his family. A world away from what he's used to, Carmy must balance the soul-crushing realities of small business ownership, his strong-willed and recalcitrant kitchen staff and his strained familial relationships, all while grappling with the impact of his brother's suicide. As Carmy fights to transform both the shop and himself, he works alongside a rough-around-the-edges kitchen crew that ultimately reveals itself as his chosen family.

It was fine for the most part, but Episode 7 was the high point. We had to through six episodes that were slow-moving, with not much happening, but all necessary and all worthwhile, because all the time we were slowly building up to this episode - a soaring climax to season 5, brilliantly directed, beautifully acted, perfectly paced and wonderfully written.

I know the show isn't for everyone anymore, but I still love spending time with these characters. It was messy and frustrating at times, but there were enough great moments to keep me invested.

I was dreading finishing this show (season 5) after a bad season 3 and a soso season 4. But! They absolutely nailed this final season. It was such a good finale!

1/2 star because 0 stars is not allowed. Have never come across a show where I hated every character and actively rooted against them. Gave it 3 episodes to change my mind and then stopped wasting my time on it.

Take the audience rating with a grain of salt. Absolutely no one is left watching this show outside of a handful of fans that somehow stuck around until this steaming pile of excrement finally came to an end.

I wasn't going to watch it but the reviews for the final seasons where decent so I thought I would check it out. Unfortunately, I hate to say it, too much damage has been done. Even though it's pretty good, there is just too much baggage from season 3 and 4. It's at the point where I don't really care about the characters at all. It just felt like background noise.
