Lori and Erin are on the holiday of a lifetime to Fiji. But after a huge fight, Erin never boards their final flight and the plane never arrives at its destination. Months later, no plane has been found, no survivors discovered. Until now. Each shocking twist will help to reveal the truth about what happened to Lori and the other passengers – a truth that someone on the island will kill to keep secret.

The drama... is shlocky and risible at times; what recommends it is the rich evocation of a sibling bond you can actually believe in. Go to Full Review

It is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser because the conditions for a drama are pre-baked into it -- it is fertile soil for commentary on the human condition, for romance, action and deception -- which is also a reason why it's easy to slip into cliché. Go to Full Review

Despite the stock storyline, there’s still enough here to keep me watching The Castaways, if only to see Smith stretch her acting muscles further. Go to Full Review

Mark S Oct 23 How this even got past the pilot episode is beyond me. Do not waste your time watching this. Pathetic storyline and you'll see better acting in a cartoon See more Rich C Sep 15 I read Lucy Clarke's book on a recent holiday. It was good holiday fayre, it kept me gripped, there were a few plot twists and some of the characters were built quite well. Imagine my excitement finding a series based on the book. Imagine my despair at seeing this deviate rapidly from the book, to see such weak characters and realise that dramatising the book required real skill in film-making. This felt like Death in Paradise met El Dorado, with the possibility of Ant and Dec appearing. It was dreadful. So many plot holes, a tragic lack of detail and strangely confusing locations. Was it too hard to translate a good read to the screen? Or was it just lazy and low budget? Read the book, don't bother with at all. There are little to no redeeming qualities. See more Bob M Apr 26 The plot's credibility makes this laughable. How long can people let alone a baby, survive on a desert island with apparently no food source? What happened to the dangerous crocodile threat, and why even introduce that in to the storyline? What happened to the stranded woman on the other island? (How did the boat get there? Did no one miss the rented seaplane? The plot was full of holes and the finale made me laugh out loud simply unbelievable. See more Barrie S @Barrieboy Feb 16 5 episodes of foul-mouthed tripe. See more JAM i Feb 7 Terrible storyline, very bad acting, things you just would not do, or far fetched, Then and Now scenes became boring lost all sense of time. What a coincidence everything was! Seems made up as went along. Kept saying ‘AS IF’ all the way through. Just a few: came back on beach after days at sea, helicopter did not see boat go in cave, crocodile still not eaten! Strange sea just seems to send people in a trance to self drown themselves, especially if you have a baby to care for! More for actors and crew to have holidays filming in Fiji and Greece!!!! No wonder we have to put up with adverts every fifteen minutes to pay for all these rubbish dramas, actors and crap directors. See more Kevin C Feb 2 Just shite. Awful acting. I would like to meet the person responsible for continuity, and punch em in the gut. Makeup awful. Best part of the show was watching the fake injuries moving around on the actors faces, particularly the lead actresses forhead injury!! Lol up,down, left, right, bloody, not bloody! Made it to the end of episode 1 just cos my wife was too stubborn to give up on it. Didn't see #2 thank God. Maybe it improves, but not willing to risk finding out. See more Read all reviews
