This show is a dark, slow-burn series that would be fantastic for viewers who love anything dealing with WWII. Go to Full Review

Madam D @Madam1948 Aug 5 The plot & acting are great. Sad to see all the horror WWII caused. Watched it in just 2 days as it is so compelling. See more Malcolm S Apr 24 This show is full of anachronisms. First is the two-handed grip the hero uses on his pistol. I trained as an MP in 1963. That was before the two-handed grip. We used the old-fashioned one handed grip as they did in 1946. Second, as an NY policeman, he would have used a revolver, not an automatic; police forces in the US didn't start changing to autos until the 1970s and '80s. Third, the idea of an MP just giving him his pistol to use is absurd. And, finally, the idea a bearded sergeant in uniform would have been allowed at a consular party attended by Gen. Lucius Clay in 1946 is ridiculous. When I was in the army in the 1960s even moustaches were frowned on. See more Tricia R 06/26/2023 I love WW2 themed films and this is one of the best! Very intriguing and interesting premise. Never a dull moment. Totally recommend it. 👌 See more Martin B 06/18/2023 Should be a 5 star but reading sub titles is just too distracting. Simply outstanding on every level. History, acting, period set and costumes it has it all and riveting, multi level sub plots as well. I get the international aspect to these offerings but they should be committing to the audience they are directed at. Dubbing language is so well done now it makes the action so much easier to follow. See more Jem C 09/28/2022 An interesting period in modern history overlooked mostly with the exception of authors like Leon Uris, The premise is good and some of the performances excellent, Nina Hoss in particular, but Kitsch or Schmaltz? It's a bit like Mickey Spillane meets Gunter Grass. It is either the writing of Max's character or Kitsch's performance that fails to succeed. This could have been a great series but ruined in an attempt to pander to fans of the formulaic whodunnit or in this case whydunnit. See more 08/03/2022 The plots are well done and the acting general very good. The poor costume selection for military personnel and other details are distracting from an other wise well done production. Another distraction is smoking in the photo lab, developer fluid and fix are extremely flammable, smoking is strictly not done while developing negatives and prints. This leads one to think the production is for a younger, less sophisticated audience. The lack of attention to details led me to shut down the program to find something else.
