Alexis Georgoulis, Yorgos Karamihos and Ulric von der Esch round out the cast.

As well as escapism, this episode featured the actual escape of a radical on the run who scarpered in a tiny barque. You don't fancy his chances of making it all the way to Malta. It's about 400 miles from Corfu. Go to Full Review

I sit bereft every evening it adorns my screen, near-physically reaching out to the sparkling Corfu sunshine, the water, the boats, the false promises of a simpler 1930s, hating myself for being so easily inveigled. Damn you, Durrells. Go to Full Review

Life in Corfu is as idyllic - and deliciously chaotic - as ever for the Durrell family. But although the sun is shining, there's a dark, Spiros-shaped cloud over their home. Go to Full Review

J. P. H Sep 1 I hadn't heard of this series before and found myself quickly drawn into the charming world of the Durrells in Corfu. Each character is delightfully peculiar and I looked forward to watching each one's exploration in their newly transplanted culture. It was like a virtual vacation in a beautiful setting with people I truly enjoyed! See more Read all reviews
