Alain E @AlainE Dec 3 First class TV! I think it’s equivalent to the original The Bridge. The color cinematography is throughout exceptional. The story is a little convoluted but still, even when you don’t exactly remember what happened in one of the subplots, it keeps the viewer’s interest going. There is a lot of double crossing and our great friend Vladimir Putin is being smeared. Significant violence, including brutal torturing. Minimal nudity and sex. And one medical error: they stab someone with insulin and he collapses a few seconds later. Even given intravenously a few minutes would have been necessary. It also would have been helpful if the subtitles could have been in different colors for the different languages spoken, as was done for Pachinko. This is trying to be a polish homeland, and in may ways it is. But the plot becomes more and more complex, and in the end every characters in the show is linked, and most are dead. You gain so much listening to the actors voices. 1. The time frame (just 9 months before Putin invaded Ukraine in the real world) is perfect for the premise of the Russians taking the Suwałki Gap. 2. The casting is perfect. The actors are all excellent. 3. The plot is twisty, but good and understandable. 4. Ewa (character) is a badass. 5. I knocked 1/2 star off because of the last 30 seconds of the final episode. No one gives a damn about Kaj. I began watching in english and I was not connecting with it, then turned to Polish and drew me in.
