Equal parts cozy and cathartic, "The Five Star Weekend" proves women over 40 don’t need thriller throughlines to be interesting. Just living their lives is enough. Go to Full Review

Even when we do get into the external conflicts, it’s more about how those end up impacting their relationships than actually about what those outside forces are. Go to Full Review

With such a solid troupe of proven performers and plenty of revelations for them all to chew through, you certainly won’t be bored. Plus, the food porn is off the charts. Go to Full Review

Is it going to change your life? No. But it’s July, it’s hot, and sometimes you just want to watch beautiful people cry in a beautiful house on a beautiful island. Go to Full Review

While the show mostly boasts the glowing tones and jangly, cosy soundtrack of any insipid New England drama, it also chucks in references to OnlyFans and pegging. It wants to be savvy about social media, but doesn’t have much new to say about it. Go to Full Review

Ivette GD @Ivettecita 4d It works because of character development and performances. A few good lines here and there. The script, mostly the premise and the way the story develops, and the direction feels dated and vanilla. There isn’t a distinct POV behind the show. Some of the beats are heavy-handed and it has a lot of: “let’s separate and have-a-moment,” scenes. I’m a sucker for women ensemble anything though, and glad to have discovered D’Arcy Carden. Love her on this and wasn’t familiar with her work. See more kay R @karenee Aug 11 So much potential and such a big miss. None of the characters are likeable or respectable. If this is how female relationships are in Hollywood, I feel bad for them. Friends should be loving, supportive, nurturing, caring and have fun together. The only women that showed kindness was Brooke and they were all so mean to her (and she didn't get very good lines-all kind of contrived and corny) A lot of it wasn't believable (especially brooke putting up with her gross husband and brooke's "love interest") and the disconnect with the daughter was disturbing. There should have been a much stronger bond and more support for each other. Did not portray reality. See more Jim F @freybucks Aug 8 Not good. Good actors. Beautiful setting. I hear the book is good. It didn’t translate well to Netflix. No one is like able. There is really no arc. I’m open to Hallmark and other movies but this was frustrating to watch and the last episode brought no resolution I felt it was a waste of my time See more Kirsten H @RT5689042217943 Aug 7 I loved it. The characters are well written and the show isn't corny or boring. I hope it gets picked up for a 2nd season. See more Karen F @foster.karen Aug 7 Easy breezy summer show to watch without thinking See more Antoinette C @RT54089187 Aug 6 I loved how authentic this show felt. Loved the cast, they made this an easy watch. See more Read all reviews
