Relationships are tested when a child goes missing in this drama that takes place in two timelines -- 2008, when the child first disappears, and 2013. In the hours following an annual neighborhood barbecue, young Callum Reid goes missing. The neighborhood is changed forever. Drama, drama everywhere! Would that any of it was genuinely compelling. Go to Full Review
Mike Hale New York Times 10/23/2015
[The] familiarity is a problem, but the bigger problems are the dreary tastefulness of Edward Bazalgette's direction and the thin, inconsequential nature of the mystery, which limps to a particularly unsatisfying conclusion. Go to Full Review

The similarities between last night's The Guilty and award winning ITV thriller Broadchurch were glaringly obvious. Missing child? Tick. Attractive mother? Tick. Brooding father? Tick. Detective trying to juggle work and family life? Tick, tick, tick. Go to Full Review

Mark this down as a total must-see. This consummately riveting Danish thriller puts you on hold, then puts you in a hold. Go to Full Review

Although fans of traditional detective fiction may not get what they expected, the emotional payoff more than compensates. Go to Full Review

Alain E @AlainE Mar 17 A very well done psychological police drama. As a typical example of the genre nobody has an uncomplicated situation. The female detective, who investigates the disappearance of a toddler, is also a mother who refuses to accept that her son is autistic. There is a parade of red herrings regarding the little boy who was lost, until finally we learn the truth. However the characters are plausible and at no point I felt that the elements supplied were completely unrealistic. Good cinematography and acting. On BritBox. See more Read all reviews
