It was worth the wait. Allende’s themes, rich and dense, need this room to breathe. Go to Full Review

Terrible things befall the women in this story; their consolation is that they told you they would, and they lived to tell the tale. It’s not enough. Go to Full Review

Gorgeously filmed, the series is about family, passion, revenge and political unrest. The first Spanish-language adaptation of Allende’s novel is sensational, and long overdue. Go to Full Review

While visually stunning and emotionally resonant, the series sometimes struggles with pacing and narrative distance. Go to Full Review

This well-produced eight-part TV miniseries offers viewers a reinterpretation of Isabelle Allende's signature work that captures its magical realism and stays true to its strong feminist messages. Go to Full Review

Without taking too many risks or grand stylistic flourishes, The House of the Spirits understands what best translates to the visual language of Allende's work and follows that path. That's enough to avoid disappointment. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Mone C @Mone77 15h A very well-produced TV show, perfect settings in each time period, one of the best adaptations I've ever seen. The cast is very sharp, well-integrated, and very well chosen. I got emotional in several episodes. One of the best surprises of the year for sure. Congratulations to Prime Video, they nailed it with this tv show. I loved every episode. See more Robert R @moltolegato May 5 I was done with this series after two dogs were brutally murdered in just the first two episodes. The English dubbing from the original Spanish makes the dialogue stilted and phony. Hard pass. See more Philip B @RT54724239 May 5 Isabel Allende's rich and captivating novel is given an outstanding adaptation in this new series. Filmed entirely in Chile, the dramatic landscapes are perfectly matched with the mood of magical realism. See more Thomas O @RT21481765 May 3 Excellent series great to see Isabel Allende as show runner. See more Iris BoaVista T @RT60834866 May 2 The House of the Spirits is not just a series—it's an experience that resonates with the viewer. Each scene feels alive, laden with memories, feelings, and silences that speak volumes. It's a story that invites you to feel, without haste. Nicole Wallace delivers a delicate and almost ethereal Clara, as if she exists between two worlds. Her performance is subtle, yet profoundly touching. Alfonso Herrera, on the other hand, constructs an intense and contradictory Esteban, full of strength and imperfections, making him painfully real. Together, they bring to life a powerful encounter between the sensitive and the brutal, love and pride. It's a series that doesn't end with the credits—it lingers, echoing within the viewer. See more Thaina R @RT42770524 May 2 terminei de assistir os 8 episódios e só o que posso dizer é que dou um 10/10 pra tudo. elenco, atuações, fotografia, a abertura... trabalho impecável de todos os envolvidos See more Read all reviews
