Pauline W @Paulwall Dec 8 Riveting reminder of the awfulness of mankind and how atrocities are often masked as orders when the depravity is almost unthinkable. Well acted, enough twists to keep you going. Unfortunately they didn't translate the polish conversation at the end so I had to look it up, that was poor planning. And the Miller character is left hanging in the air, no logic there, maybe symbolism for how so many people vanished in WW11. It's a good reminder that we should (and yet do) not repeat those mistakes. The Nazis on trial remind me of a certain orange US president, all denials, fake news, no redeeming features. A good watch, visually appealing, well acted. Dubbed into English but with American accents - personally, I think if being dubbed into English it should've been a European with a German accent. Still trying to understand the Polish hairdresser conversation!!?? All in Polish with no translation! See more Nestor Joel R 05/24/2024 I thought it was very well written, acted and filmed. The cinematography helped create the feel of that day and time. They did not rush the story, but rather let it unfold. We discovered along with the characters the realities and horrors of Auschwitz. I recommend this series highly. See more JAL L 12/05/2023 This was worth watching but seriously needed better editing. The one-hour-long episodes (five of them) dragged & felt repetitive. It could easily have fit into a focused 2-hour film, if various unnecessary and distracting side-stories had been left on the cutting room floor. It's a moment in history - the Frankfurt trials of SS staff directly responsible for atrocities specific to Auschwitz - that deserves a tighter, less scattered narrative. See more Read all reviews
