This long-running animated comedy focuses on the eponymous family in the town of Springfield in an unnamed U.S. state. The head of the Simpson family, Homer, is not a typical family man. A nuclear-plant employee, he does his best to lead his family but often finds that they are leading him. The family includes loving, blue-haired matriarch Marge, troublemaking son Bart, overachieving daughter Lisa and baby Maggie. Other Springfield residents include the family's religious neighbor, Ned Flanders, family physician Dr. Hibbert, Moe the bartender and police chief Clancy Wiggum.

TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch 6d Season 35 of The Simpsons finds the series slipping back into rocky territory after a brief resurgence that showed real promise. There’s a sense of overconfidence this time around, as if the show assumed momentum alone could carry it forward. Several episodes lean too heavily on familiar beats, falling into a copy-and-paste rhythm instead of pushing for sharper or more relevant ideas. That familiarity doesn’t completely derail the season, but it does dull the impact and makes the stagnation harder to ignore. The Simpsons will likely endure for years to come, yet longevity doesn’t guarantee freshness, especially when output remains constant. Season 35 becomes a clear example of what creative staleness looks like, suggesting the series may need to scale back, rethink its approach, and fully revamp its storytelling to regain its edge.
