A co-production between BBC One and SundanceTV, the series introduces the Defoes, a family of female divorce lawyers known for dominating their field in the ruthless and fast-paced world of London's divorce law circuit. At each step, viewers are met with an authentic and compelling look at how four very different women attempt to hold their ground in all areas of their lives -- from their own relationships to their careers and the surprise return of their estranged father after a 30-year absence.

Unthreading over the season, this storyline builds into something very much of the moment, but it's done with a light touch. Go to Full Review

A welcome return for Abi Morgan's The Split, even though the first episode of series two might fall foul of those too willing to decry it as too huggily privileged middle-class. Go to Full Review

Richard F 01/03/2025 I’ve come to this series late. Very late! Series 1 was absolutely superb; brilliantly written, superbly acted, great camera work and a score that was absolutely on point with the drama. I assumed that series 2 would, as is normally the case, fall short. How wrong I was. The six episodes of series 2 make up unquestionably the finest 6 hours of television drama that I have ever seen. Perhaps my life experiences over a long term marriage (still very much together!) that have aspects in common with The Split enhanced my empathy and understanding. And most certainly made me appreciate the utterly brilliant script and acting. Outstanding. Completely outstanding. See more Diane M 08/25/2022 Brilliant acting. The British can do it right. See more Robin H 04/24/2022 Quite brilliant. A really intelligent, brilliantly written, superbly acted, adult piece of television. What a contrast to so much shallow soap opera out there. More please. See more 08/02/2020 Loved this show, the tension between Christie and Hannah and Nathan. I hope there will be a season 3, but things seem to be unraveling. See more 05/22/2020 Season 2 better than Season 1 and I loved Season 1! This drama is so in keeping with the times, really examining that we evolve as individuals, never say never...
