What to Know

Critics Consensus

While this second installment of The Vow wouldn't have enough meat on the bone to sustain itself as a self-contained docuseries, it succeeds as an introspective supplement that deepens what came before.

Noujaim doesn’t demand accountability from her subjects, at least on camera... This attitude is well-intended reasoning. It’s also strikingly naive, because it assumes that everybody is speaking honestly all the time. Go to Full Review
Craig Mathieson The Age (Australia) 11/17/2022
The second season doesn’t have the revelations of the first but sifting through the rubble as court cases unfold still offers insight into the psychological tactics and self-sustaining delusion. Go to Full Review
Lauren Piester TheWrap 10/18/2022
While the first season is necessary viewing to really understand the second, the second feels like the more vital piece of the story — less salacious, more balanced, but still sad and horrifying all the same. Go to Full Review

The Vow Part II remains engaging, excellent true crime that tells its story well and delves into its personality and nuance with at least a veneer of care and responsibility. Go to Full Review

Bob A @Captainkitten 01/16/2024 Second season better than the first. Hard to screw it up with such an unbelievable story. Only negative is like allot of documentaries these days they work the clock to add more episodes could have been edited down to make more appealing and not keep dragging on. First season was particularly bad in this respect See more Mark C @RT30045176 12/13/2022 Riveting - exposes the truly dark underbelly of NXIVM and Keith Ranieri's manipulative criminality. See more K A L @JadedSpadesfilm 11/15/2022 This season is much more balanced than part 1. Part 1 seemed pretty skewed in favor of the so called victims when the truth is that it is just more complicated than that. I appreciated learning more about both sides. This Keith character was pretty unethical and a horn dog, the adult participants from Part 1 seemed to me as privileged, whiny and unable to accept their own responsibility in this mess. Overall, Part 2 is much more balanced. I would recommend, especially if you watched Part 1. See more Coby N @Coby00 10/30/2022 It's so well made, I enjoyed it very much! See more Read all reviews
