It’s made for the mouth breathers who will watch any slop no matter how bad the writing and characterization gets, fans who eat up Negan’s childish boob jokes, and the weirdos who are hoping Maggie hooks up with her husband’s killer. As an avid watcher and rewatcher of the OG series, this is the best anything in the TWDU has been in years. If you’ve actually watched the show, and watch the character growth and dynamics, the Maggie and Negan of it all more than makes sense, and I actually hope AMC lets them push it all the way to a romance in season 4. These characters have evolved and grown together over the years, and they’ve made it play out on screen in a way that really makes you root for them as a duo. Chemistry is unmatched and Seth Hoffman, JDM, and LC absolutely turned this spinoff around after season 2, I hope they get at least 2-3 more seasons and give those three as much creative freedom as possible. See more Max 2 @Max234 Sep 26, 2026 I hope the reason Dead City takes place years after the other TWD spinoffs is so that the other remaining characters don’t have to interact with the abomination that is the new contrived dynamic between Negan & Maggie. To think that a show originally about found family has been bastardized so much all to validate Negan and try to make him just another one of the gang. They had core characters beefing over keeping him alive, Rick separated from his family for 8 yrs in part bc of plotting around said beef, relationships were damaged over the decision not to kill him, but now they’ve got Maggie attached to the hip with him and calling him the only family she has left. How insulting to anyone who loved the original show and the actual Team Family. I hope no other OG characters will be ruined to further try to validate Negan with forced interactions that strain credulity, he doesn’t belong in any reunion (and with how they’ve written Maggie, I don’t think she does either at this point tbh). Season 3 tried some new things that were really fun (episode 6!!) & I've really liked the direction the show has been going in. JDM and LC's acting is pretty damn good. The new cast is fab too; Jimmi Simpson's character in particular is a great addition. Genuinely some really cool character development for both Maggie + Negan & adds more complexity to their duoship; their overall dynamic is great now. Still not quite BFFs, but still earning some genuine level of trust & deeper connection. And Maggie finally gets time to smile & be happy THANK GOD.
