Nova Scotia's trailer parks are colorful thanks to residents Ricky, Bubbles and Julian. Together, they plan mad capers, usually get-rich-quick schemes, with plenty of screw-ups along the way. They're constantly being hunted by their former trailer park supervisor, Jim Lahey, and his perpetually shirtless, pot-belled assistant, Randy. There are a host of other quirky characters that make up this zany locale of below-income characters in this Canadian mockumentary series that has spawned two feature films.

Canadian tone is more of a slow burn. It's also terrifically addicting after two or three views, after you've engaged with the characters and warmed to the dry humor of the show's often-contrapuntal editing. Go to Full Review

Older teens might well be drawn to the show's outlandish plot lines and quirky characters, particularly Bubbles, who proved to be the breakout star. Go to Full Review

Laura Beth Langley A @LauraBA77 Mar 18, 2026 Late to the game on this one. It took a little while to get into it, but then I watched every season straight through. I am an English teacher mom of five fairly grown kids who would never have chosen this series unless I accidentally landed on it. I laughed out loud so hard throughout the series. The quirks that all the characters have are hilarious and endearing. Even though they are completely degenerate, you find yourself rooting for them throughout. Obviously this isn't meant to be high brow humor, but anything that makes me laugh these days is highly appreciated, and PTB nailed it. See more nick m @Movieguy268 Jan 24, 2026 Not to be watched. I think maybe I would laugh at it if I had a lobotomy because this is the least funny anything I have ever watched, hours of my life wasted and I didnt laugh once. The guys I work with recommended it to me and now I'm starting to think the three of them share an IQ, an IQ that hasn't hit 3 figures. See more Feb 19, 2020 Have you ever wondered what it's like in the world's worst trailer park? Welcome to Nova Scotia, at the tail end of Canada and home of Sunnyvale Trailer Park. In Sunnyvale a multitude of things could happen every day; you could be walking down the road and a mountain lion on a leash could leap at you, two grown men riding in go-karts could speed by, or a dump truck with a vault behind it could slam into your home. Anything bad that can go wrong will go wrong. Trailer Park Boys is a Netflix comedy series that'll run you 8.99$ a month, but that includes every other show and movie on Netflix so, in my opinion, it's well worth it. If you enjoy satire shows like The Office, Seinfeld, or That 70's Show then this show is perfect for you, it had me rolling on the floor at least 20 times by the end of the first season. The show is filled with plenty of hilarious quotes and inside jokes throughout every single season, my personal favorite is one that everyone has said at least once, "frig off Lahey"(Trailer Park Boys website). I also love every characters quirk that is always represented throughout the show, such as how Jullian is always holding an alcoholic beverage, Bubbles has the iconic huge glasses, Ricky is always doing something illegal, and at the end of each season, everyone gets arrested and goes back to jail until the next season. I genuinely love this show more than any other on Netflix or any platform in general. The only problem I have with it is the fact that it doesn't ever try to shake things up, sure it has a couple of spinoffs like the animated series but they all follow the same formula, I could see this as being a good thing if you want consistency but it couldn't hold me in during the later seasons. Overall I'd give Trailer Park Boys a solid 8/10, highly recommended for just about everyone mature enough to watch it. See more Read all reviews
