This animated comedy series explores the friendship between two 30-year-old bird women who live in the same apartment building. The buddy comedy features cocky, carefree toucan Tuca and anxious, daydreaming songbird Bertie as they live their lives in the metropolis of Bird Town. The former roommates separate when Bertie moves in with chipper architect Speckle and Tuca moves upstairs from them. Tiffany Haddish and Ali Wong voice the titular characters on this animated show that is decidedly not for kids.

It’s a very consciously uplifting show that’s meant to create a space for women and queer folks who don’t otherwise have a space for the sort of dialogue that transpires on the show. Go to Full Review

Striking with both a light heart and worthy venom, the show is a needed modern female expression that has the realistic completion to speak to human truths so often overlooked. Go to Full Review

eva l 09/10/2022 Fantastic show and a fantastic season, providing a uniquely female perspective rarely seen in comedic animation. See more Yash B @yashbansal 08/29/2022 I think "Tuca & Bertie" was a deeply misunderstood show when it first came out. Simply because of the animation style, it was frequently compared to "BoJack Horseman," and it is not quite the same type of story here. This story has more zany adventures and a good mix of heartfelt moments. The two characters are easy to love the whole way through. I think the show has a lot of chaotic energy that can take a while to get used to, but ultimately is what makes it endearing. Overall, this is a good show that is one of the more unique animated offerings out there. See more Matt M @mgmcrjr 08/15/2022 Watched first season on Netflix and thought it was really good. Couple of times I was laughing pretty hard. Sure it is feminist tone (bleh) but overall it was good enough besides these things. Watched season 2 on adult swim and was disappointed. Definitely held my attention less and besides that it didn't have the same "random whimsical" feel with interesting on screen checklists and definitions and whatnot. Season 3 continues the downward trend. See more 07/14/2022 I've watched the two first episodes on HBO, and it's going really good so far. And Tuca's line in Pain Garden is the greatest line i can relate to, "There's such a thing as too much Tuca, even for Tuca." Keep it up guys, i can't wait for episode 3,4 and 5.
