Widowed suburbanite Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker) starts growing and selling marijuana to make enough money to support her family after her husband's unexpected death leaves her in big debt. Nancy has associates in her pot-growing business, which include Andy, who is her brother-in-law, and pot-smoking City Councilman Doug Wilson. Then there's the business of trying to keep the whole thing secret from people like her neighbor Celia.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Mary-Louise Parker remains a mesmerizing presence, but Weeds' final installment burns the series' remaining goodwill down to a sorry roach with perfunctory plotting and a sense that this story no longer resembles the one fans fell in love with.

The show had been through so many time jumps and location changes, it was hard to know which state or decade we were supposed to be in, and even harder to care. Go to Full Review

The entire premiere was a win for Weeds, which has had a rough past few seasons. But if there's any time to get the show back on track, it is now -- just in time for a proper ending. Go to Full Review

While I wouldn't say I'm optimistic about this season, the certainty of its place in Weeds' larger narrative makes it considerably more palatable. Go to Full Review

Pour one out to Showtime's Weeds, y'all. But not the good stuff. The show no longer deserves it. Go to Full Review

What was once a contained and quirky -- though sometimes dark -- comedy about a mess of a woman, has become a global disaster. Go to Full Review

Kasso M 01/28/2023 Not that much worse than how the show had been going. An okay ending. They went for both funny and touching, but neither quite hit their mark for me. I was mostly relieved it was over and I was finally done with this marathon of a series. See more 11/26/2021 There's just way way way way too many jewish characters in like every episode it doesn't make any sense. It's just, weird. Yeah the creator is jewish so she tried make it as jewish as possible and that's.. yeah ok. It's like these people live in an alternate universe and you randomly meet jewish people everywhere you go literally every 5 min everyday. See more 10/02/2019 loved this show- but season 8 not that much & ending awful! See more 09/04/2019 The only good thing about this season was how Andys story ended See more 08/17/2015 This show was actually not that original and not something new, but it was fun to watch! It was very well made and actually pretty enjoyable. The 7year jump actually made it a little bit confusing / less enjoyable to watch for me because it actually destroyed something that they created and ruined the ambience. See more 06/25/2015 Absolutely loved the ending. The show started to get redundant, but the end was worth the wait. See more Read all reviews
