During its previous six seasons, I have considered Younger to be one of the most underrated shows in all of television. Season 7, however, has been patently awful – poorly written, badly directed, clumsily acted – and don't get me started on how Lauren suddenly (magically!) has become Diana's replacement in an executive position ... and I guess we're stuck with the vomitous Quinn as a regular character, while Diana and Zane are gone. (And why is Maggie even a character on the show any longer? Why?) This season's writers have given us vacuous caricatures like "Fupa" who do nothing to advance the story, and "Kai" who ... well, we all know what he's here for, and for how long. Younger will always hold a dear spot in my TV-watching heart as a grown-up soap opera with perfect casting and just enough drama to go with great-looking visuals. If this was the first season of Younger that I watched, I would have tuned out after the first episode and never come back.

I randomly came across a commercial promoting this new show on TV land years ago. The idea of a forty something passing herself off as a twenty something in order to get back into the workforce was so cute and interesting that I tuned in to watch the pilot and have been hooked ever since. Due to the pandemic, this last season was never filmed in 2020 and I kind of forgot about it. When I discovered Younger season 7 was on Paramount+, I was ecstatic and obviously binged the entire season right away. This last season picks up immediately where season 6 left off. Season 7 is full of surprises and tears. Just when you think that Liza is going to have it all, the creators of this show throw us a curve ball and we get a bittersweet ending to this charming and lovable series.

    Decent if a little confused

I loved the first five seasons but boy, this last season (7) was horrific. Why would Charles, who has pursued Liza over many episodes, reject her over her asking for more time for a marriage proposal? It's like all of Charles's wisdom gained from a lifetime of reading and publishing great authors has just gone to s**t and now he's just boning anything that throws herself at him. Just freewheeling down that road to va-jay-jay, not a care in the world about the female roadkill he's run over! I just survived a goddamn pandemic with my boyfriend. The last thing I need to see is a long drawn out painful breakup after so many couples have split during this saddening time. Also, the second to last thing I need to see is Lauren being annoying and everyone strangely pretending that the horrible things she does is somehow "cute." I will be going back in the office soon so I will have all the experience of socially awkward busy bodies who can't read a room, so no need for Lauren in my life. And lastly, the very last thing I want to see is Charles being cruel to Liza while parading Quinn around the office. He is rude about her ideas and is sociopathically ok with canoodling with Quinn around Liza all day. Side note: why the hell is she even there all the time? Do yourself a favor and watch a quality show that actually entertains.

I'm a big fan of Younger and that's why I'm so sad that the last season of Younger is sh*t. Sh*t sh*t sh*t. It used to be hilarious, edgy and super cool. What happened?

This show is good even though some of the writing can feel predictable at times. Even so, it's an interesting story with fantastic characters. I'm interested to see how it all ends.

The first 5 season were strong. I don't know what's happened in the 6th and 7th, but highly recommend the first 5 seasons
