Susan R 06/02/2024 Unpredictable only insofar as the decisions every character makes, and consequences of them, seem to follow no kind of earth logic, right from the starting premise of bringing your family to England from Canada to play hockey... See more 04/06/2021 All ten episodes that I have seen, from this first season, this is outstanding! I hope they there will be a new season 2 coming up!!! See more 04/01/2021 Netflix cancelled Spinnig out and gave us this melted puddle as an ice rink. Nothing make sense in term of storyline since the premise. Canadian family move to England so the son can train in a hockey academy, is already a week premise. Have it been to Russia, USA, Finland, Sweden, Lituania, would already made more sense. The characters are not likeable, nor are they interesting. Kayla is a entitle brat with no real consequences to her misbehaving. Mac is brooding angst teen, yet not in a charming way. Sky is a very, very, very old pattern of a best-friend. The parents basically wallflowers. The coaches, as stereotype and flat as can be and the other kids in the hockey team... well completely forgettable. The only exception to a more fleshed out character is maybe Ava which has maybe the most complex storyline and arch, which is bad since she is mostly a background character. The hockey games and training sequences are dull, old fashioned in their filming. What players stand still in the middle of the ice while the game is on. There is barely any coherence, pattern, movement around the ice... like you sat the production team in front of one or two games and called it a day. The figure skating lacks in charm, grace and appeal. As per the hockey sequences... dull filming, nothing to enhance the skating. If you want the audience to admire the whole choreography and elegance of the sport... at least show it properly, make it append and logical. The sets and the production design lacks... it is as dull and without soul as the rest of the production. Will pass on the bad acting cause at least they made an effort to find actors who can skate. Can't believe Netflix pull the plug on Spinning Out and yet give us this. See more 03/31/2021 After slogging thru the first episode and a half of predictable old tropes and plotlines, I literally skipped to episode 10, and realized I had missed nothing. It goes exactly how you'd predict in any hobby/sports show about parents and their kids and expectations blah blah blah. I feel like the writers weren't even trying to be original. Pass. See more 03/31/2021 Zero Chill focus on the MacBentley family who moved to England for their son to join a hockey team. While the series seems to focus on mac, it is his sister Kayla journey that really take my interest in the show. She is struggling because she were forced to leave her skating partner, and best friend, in canada. Luckily she meets Sky. I love the chemistry between Kayla and Sky and hope that if there's a second season, that they will keep developing it and stop try to push mac in between them. Also there's Ava Hammarström, an ice skater who what she really wants to do is playing hockey and also trying to make her remote father (a famous hockey coach) to see her. See more 03/27/2021 Zero Chill has probably been one of my favourite New Releases of 2021. This Show puts a fresh spin with something new In a Year that is following a Global pandemic. It's Funny, Charming and deep. Kayla and Mac are twins who are faced with your classic "Coming of Age" story where they realize that life isn't always going to be easy for them. Kayla learns that sometimes in order to succeed you need to bet on yourself. Mac learns that he can't always put himself first and that teamwork will always get you farther. Kayla's best friend Sky teaches the twins to bet on themselves. It truly is different and I binge watched the entire season in one night because of it. That and I'm Canadian and love hockey.
