Barry Lowe was an actor who made a successful career for himself in film. Lowe kickstarted his acting career in various films such as the George Baker drama "Hell in Korea" (1956), "Steel Bayonet" (1957) with Leo Genn and "Stowaway Girl" (1957) with Trevor Howard. He also appeared in "The Camp on Blood Island" (1958). He continued to act in productions like the David Tomlinson comedy "Up the Creek!" (1958), "Expresso Bongo" (1959) and the dramatic adaptation "Yesterday's Enemy" (1959) with Stanley Baker. He also appeared in the Peter Cushing dramatic adaptation "Cash on Demand" (1961). During the latter part of his career, he tackled roles in the action movie "Sands of the Kalahari" (1965) with Stuart Whitman and the Eric Porter horror film "Hands of the Ripper" (1971). He also worked in television during these years, including a part on "First Among Equals" (PBS, 1986-87). Lowe most recently wrote the dramatic comedy "Violet's Visit" (1997) with Rebecca Smart.
