Wife of screenwriter David Newman who collaborated on a number of films with her husband in the 70s and 80s before turning an avocation, cooking, into another successful career as a food expert and cookbook author and columnist. The best-seller Feasts appeared in 1991, based on her long-running and well-reviewed series of New York New Year's Eve parties for the film industry. No relation to Paul Newman, another film figure who became enamoured of the art of food later in life.
