Gazzy Garcia, who goes by the stage name Lil Pump, is a rapper, producer and songwriter who was born in Miami on Aug. 17, 2000. When he was 13, a cousin introduced Garcia to Omar "Smokepurpp" Pineiro and the two eventually collaborated on projects. Smokepurpp asked Garcia to freestyle over a track he was producing, which was independently released in 2016 and became Garcia's debut single, "Lil Pump." He quickly followed that up with several more singles, which earned Garcia recognition in the South Florida underground rap scene after the tracks grew in popularity on streaming services. He co-headlined the No Jumper tour that year, in addition to performing at the Rolling Loud Festival. Garcia released singles "D Rose" and "Boss" early in 2017, and they collected more than 70 million streams between them. "D Rose" was turned into a music video that premiered on YouTube on Jan. 30, 2017 and amassed over 100 million views. Garcia signed a record deal with Warner Bros. Records on June 9, 2017, but it was later voided because he was a minor when it was signed. He released single "Gucci Gang" that August, and it became his first track to make the Billboard Hot 100 chart. He released his debut studio album, "Lil Pump," on Oct. 6, 2017; it featured artists that included Smokepurpp, Gucci Mane and Rick Ross. After a bidding war arose for his services, Garcia re-signed with Warner Bros. on March 12, 2018.
