M. Shadows

Frontman of the heavy metal band Avenged Sevenfold, M. Shadows was born Matthew Charles Sanders on July 31, 1981 in Fountain Valley, California. Raised in Huntington Beach, he developed an interest in rock music listening to his father's music. He was taught to play the piano and used the skills to learn the guitar. In 1999 Sanders formed the band Avenged Sevenfold with friends from school. They released their debut studio album, "Sounding the Seventh Trumpet" in 2001. The group steadily produced seven additional studio albums over 20 years with M. Shadows as lead vocalist. In other projects, M. Shadows was good friends with the creators of Call of Duty: Black Ops, the video game series, and the band produced four original songs for the game. In 2019, M. Shadows was added as a playable character in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
