Morton Lowry

Morton Lowry was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Lowry kickstarted his acting career in various films such as "The Dawn Patrol" (1938), the Johnny Weissmuller adventure "Tarzan Finds a Son" (1939) and "The Hound of the Baskervilles" (1939). He also appeared in the Ann Sheridan comedy "Winter Carnival" (1939), the Paul Muni dramatic adventure "Hudson's Bay" (1940) and the Jack Benny comedy adaptation "Charley's Aunt" (1941). His film career continued throughout the forties in productions like "Counter-Espionage" (1942), the biopic drama "The Loves of Edgar Allan Poe" (1942) with Linda Darnell and the dramatic comedy "The Pied Piper" (1942) with Monty Woolley. He also appeared in "Corvette K-225" (1943), "Immortal Sergeant" (1943) and the romance "No Time For Love" (1943) with Claudette Colbert. In the latter part of his career, he tackled roles in the drama "None But the Lonely Heart" (1944) with Cary Grant, "The Hour Before the Dawn" (1944) with Franchot Tone and "The Man in Half Moon Street" (1944) with Nils Asther. He also appeared in "Pursuit to Algiers" (1945), the drama "The Picture of Dorian Gray" (1945) with George Sanders and the Sydney Greenstreet mystery "The Verdict" (1946). Lowry last acted in "Calcutta" (1947). Lowry passed away in November 1987 at the age of 73.
