Ottola Nesmith was an actress who had a successful Hollywood career. In her early acting career, Nesmith appeared in such films as "Nobody's Baby" (1937), the Alice Faye biopic "Lillian Russell" (1940) and "The Invisible Ghost" (1941). She also appeared in "Molly and Me" (1945) with Gracie Fields. Her film career continued throughout the forties in productions like the Nina Foch thriller "My Name Is Julia Ross" (1945), the comedy "Cluny Brown" (1946) with Charles Boyer and the Ronald Colman comedic adaptation "The Late George Apley" (1947). She also appeared in the crime feature "Chicago Deadline" (1949) with Alan Ladd. Film continued to be her passion as she played roles in the dramatic adaptation "Something of Value" (1957) with Rock Hudson, "Witness For the Prosecution" (1958) with Tyrone Power and the dramatic adaptation "From the Terrace" (1960) with Paul Newman. Nesmith more recently acted in the Natalie Wood dramatic adaptation "Inside Daisy Clover" (1966). Nesmith passed away in February 1972 at the age of 83.
