Ralph Volke
Ralph Volkie was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Volkie's early acting career consisted of roles in various films, such as "East of the River" (1940), "Angel Face" (1953) and the crime flick "Dangerous Mission" (1954) with Victor Mature. He also appeared in "The French Line" (1954) with Jane Russell and the dramatic adaptation "The Big Knife" (1955) with Jack Palance. He kept working in film throughout the fifties, starring in "Autumn Leaves" (1956) with Joan Crawford, "Beyond a Reasonable Doubt" (1956) and the Mario Lanza musical "Serenade" (1956). He also appeared in "Chicago Confidential" (1957) with Brian Keith. Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the Doris Day adaptation "The Pajama Game" (1957), the James Stewart western "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" (1962) and the Frank Sinatra comedy "Four For Texas" (1963). He also appeared in "McLintock!" (1963). Volkie last acted in "The Sons of Katie Elder" (1965) with John Wayne. Volkie passed away in March 1987 at the age of 77.
