Peter Hacker, a U.S. Ambassador to the Middle East, believes he can bring peace to the embattled region. But he defies an Israeli defense minister request -- as well as that of his own security chief -- not to meet with PLO representatives. This action spurs violence on both sides of the dispute. Then Hacker discovers he has a personal link to this political terror: the Israeli secret police has made a tape of his wife having sex with a key Palestinian figure and is blackmailing Hacker with it. Horrifying him further, he learns that the incriminating record might have been PLO backed, as he sinks deeper into a world where the only diplomacy understood is an eye for an eye. [More]
