In this western with echoes of High Noon, gunman Rick Martin (Sterling Hayden) rides into a small frontier town to warn its citizens of a pending raid by thug Quentin (John Dehner) and his men. Rick offers himself as a hired killer/protector, but the nasty and hostile town wants no part in this and throws him in jail after he's framed by Canby Judd (William Bishop), a self-styled ranch owner who has wooed and won Rick's girlfriend Laura (Karen Booth). As predicted, Quentin's gang does indeed
