A great American-ization of the classic Scrooge tale, told from the POV of Bob Cratchet.

Consensus: The holiday classic to define all holiday classics, It's a Wonderful Life is one of a handful of films worth an annual viewing.
Runtime: 2 hrs 49 mins
Genre: Dramas
Synopsis: A good but slightly ineffectual man tries to off himself after an error that really wasn't his fault. In Christmas Carol fashion, his crusty-but-lovable guardian angel shows up to give him a tour... A good but slightly ineffectual man tries to off himself after an error that really wasn't his fault. In Christmas Carol fashion, his crusty-but-lovable guardian angel shows up to give him a tour of the world without his presence, and it isn't a pretty place. Moral courage, small-town American life, civic cooperation, and family love are glorified; corporate greed and self-involvement are vilified; at the climax, a blanket of snow like spun sugar makes everything pure and clean like redemption itself. Reviews for It's a Wonderful Life
I understand the concern some people may have about buying a high-definition edition of an old B&W film. I can say without hesitation, I'd do it. (Blu-ray Edition)
Capra's film should be freed from its syrupy holiday status, but, like Clarence the angel, this mostly recycled Collector's Set lacks wings.
Stewart and then-newcomer Donna Reed are, by turns, both charming and sizzling as one of filmdom's great onscreen couples in this happily-ever-after tale
This DVD would make a fine upgrade for any fan. . . .The night scenes are no longer murky and muddy, the sound doesn't buzz and the THX remixing of sound and picture give the movie the respect it has slowly earned over the years.
