This slasher movie follows a relentless killer who is out to avenge the death of a young girl who died after being bullied and teased by four of her classmates. Now high-school students, the guilt-ridden kids have kept their involvement a secret, but when they start being murdered, one by one, it's clear that someone knows the truth. Also coping with the past are members of the dead girl's family, most notably her prom-queen sister, Kim Hammond.

Prom Night proves once again that it's not sufficient to simply rip-off a successful movie formula — you've got to add something to it, even if it's simply coming up with ingenious new ways of disposing of your victims.

[Leslie Nielsen and Jamie Lee Curtis] perform well. In fact, Curtis (an alumna of Halloween and The Fog, and soon to be seen in Terror Train) is very good... it would be great to watch her perform in a riproaring comedy or a searing drama.

An 80s Horror Slasher Classic That Is Certainly A Product Of Its Time. I Dug It Enough, Although Some Of The Stoey Reminds Me Of Elements Of The Show "His & Hers" Where A Lot Of The People Are Just Unpleasant And Outside Of Jamie Lee curtis' Family, There's No One To Root For People Who Wronged Her In The Past Are Now Either Close To Her And It Mzkes You Feel Gross, Or They're Downright Awful To Her And You Want To See Them Taken Out. One Creep In The Film Literally Tries To Assault Her Like A Predator. The Killer Definitely Goes For The Creepy Vibes, But Some Of Their Movements Are Bizzare. I Can't Believe It Didn't Realize Who The Killer Was, It Felt So Obvious. The Final Reveal Plays Strange With The Music Snd Lack Of Consequence For The Survivor. Some People Make Terrible Survival Choices. I Dug The Disco Scene, Like The Esthetics, And The Erie Creepy 80s Vibe. Still Some Fun To Be Had Here. C+ 5.6-6.6/10 Worth A Watch For Horror Slasher Fans

Movie drags for a solid hour. The murders don’t even start until the last thirty minutes. But it was interesting to see Leslie Nielsen in a non-comedy film.

The movie lacks suspense and all of the kills happen within the last 30 minutes of the film. The final reveal of the killer is very obvious. It feels more like a prom drama film than a horror film
