If nothing else, The RoboCop Trilogy should afford sufficient proof of the immense differences between Paul Verhoeven and the trigger-happy, run-of-the-mill action directors he is often lumped in with.

A mammoth collection of glittery extra features and a hard metal case protecting a questionable transfer, the new RoboCop is like the DVD version of Delta City.

A superhero film that weaves in a little anti-government satire, a little Charles Bronson-style revenge motif, a new twist on Frankenstein's monster and the Bionic Man, and a post-apocalyptic society decimated by corporate greed.
