nice animation & design but - shudder
| Original Score: 1/5
Critics often use the word 'incomprehensible' when referring to a poorly constructed movie, but nowhere is this assessment more accurate than in the case of Cool World.
| Original Score: 1.5/5
Although director Ralph Bakshi's imagination is certainly present, Cool World is too full of itself to create any magic.
| Original Score: 61/100
Unfortunately, the film doesn't have much else to offer beyond narrative incoherence and bad acting.
| Original Score: 1.5/4
One of my favorite movies that I didn't like.
| Original Score: 2/5
Here's hoping cartoons and noir will meet again on another, more auspicious, day.
Both the live and animated characters are equally uninteresting.
Mr. Bakshi's skill as an animator continues to outshine his judgment about subject matter.
Wanted to be the next Roger Rabbit. Turned out to be a watered down 'Fritz the Cat.'
Occasionally hints at being something great that was hacked down to size in both budget and time.
A huge disappointment.

Mommy! Mommy! Make the bad man stop!
| Original Score: 0/5
What Bakshi has come up with is merely a one-joke movie -- and it's a dirty joke.
Telling you that I liked Ralph Bakshi's Cool World a whole lot more than I expected to isn't really saying a whole lot for the movie.
| Original Score: 2.5/5
What are the rules anyway?
A surprisingly incompetent film.
| Original Score: 1/4
There are a few clever little satires on other animated films and perhaps a good line or two, but the incoherent story just is not very interesting.
