Philandering husband James Ballard has been seriously injured in a car crash. But after bonding with Helen, the woman in the other vehicle, the two begin a sexual relationship. Their lives are further altered after meeting kinky hospital worker Vaughn. Vaughn runs a secret club that re-enacts (to the minutest details) famous car crashes, such as the one that killed James Dean. Lovemaking between the club members follows the re-creation.
