See more Blu B Jul 31 It's ok. It actually starts out pretty funny honestly and kind of suprising how it hits more than misss. Nicholson is great and the best thing in this. He's got great dead pan comedic delivery and makes poor material somehow funny. Sandler is just playing himself as always. Everyone else is just charictures or forgettable including the love interest. It has the same tone that all Peter Segal movies have. It's very much cut from the same cloth as Chris Columbus style films. It's a very meta type comedy plot that thinks it's Billy Wilder level clever with it's script but is actually on par with the team that made things like Gods of Egypt. The longer it goes the more crazy, unfocused, over the top, and farfetched the plot gets. And it just becomes less funny the more it goes. Stuff honestly just happens and it wasn't exactly sharp to start with but it really starts coming off the rails. It's a romcom and a odd couple type comedy mixed together and really doesn't work well. But to it's credit the two best things here, Nicholson and the humor of the first half carries it across the finish line. Everything overall is just ok about it. Most could skip this and not miss much. However if your a hardcore Nicholson fan it may be worth a watch just to see his great comedic delivery.
