A handful of thieves discover they have more to worry about than the law in this independent horror story, set during the Civil War. What a shame it didn't get the theater treatment...
Solid acting, at times brilliant camera work, and superb sound design all contribute to make this a truly frightening winner.
In this prequel to all American haunted house movies, the past is just like the future.
You're not likely to lose a night's sleep over it . . . but you may find yourself double-checking under the bed before turning in.
About the only thing that is original and unfamiliar about this house of horrors horror film is that it is set during the Civil War.
The deliberate pacing of the movie does take a while to get used to, though, especially for viewers who like their horror movies fast and bloody.
Other than the refreshing setting, there isn't much else going on in Birds that you haven't seen a million times anywhere else.
Evil bastards encounter angry spirits in a haunted house. You do the math.
Pretty terrible straight-to-video horror flick.
